Centerville Trip for Adults 50+
Wednesday, September 11, 2019
Join us for a fun day exploring Centerville, Iowa, the county seat to Appanoose County and home to the “World’s Largest Town Square!” We’ll tourThe Shoppes of Bradley Hal, a beautiful 22 room mansion built in 1909 with amazing turn-of-the century details that is home to more than 40 vendors.
Next we’ll enjoy lunch at Lucile’s Steak & Spirits located in The Continental Hotel on the historic town square, followed by free time to explore the many one-of-a-kind shops around the square. Later we’ll enjoy a guided tour of the Appanoose Historical and Coal Mining Museum located in the 1903 Georgian-style former post office that is on the National Register of Historic Places. We will learn all about the community’s heritage, the impact of the coal mining industry, and many of Appanoose County’s “Extraordinary Individuals.”
Your registration fee includes transportation and admission to the museum. Please bring spending money for lunch and shopping.
