STORM CLEAN UP STATUS - 7.12.18


Curbside pickup: City and State crews have completed curbside pick-up of storm related debris. If you have questions or concerns about items that were not picked up please call City Hall at 515-961-9410 or use the Citizen Action Form located on the City of Indianola website home page at www.indianolaiowa.gov 

 

Brush Facility: The brush facility will offer no fees for storm damage drop-offs this weekend. The Facility will operate during its normal hours this week on today, Saturday and Sunday. This will be the final opportunity to drop off storm damage debris at no cost at the brush facility.

STORM CLEAN UP STATUS - 7.11.18

Curbside pickup Update: City and DOT crews are deep into Zone 6 and 7 at this point in time with curbside collection. It is anticipated that both of these zones will be finalized by noon on Thursday July 12th. Thursday afternoon and Friday morning will be spent finalizing curbside collections. Zones 1-4 have been driven at least twice for curbside collection. To this point, there have been approximately 450 dump truck loads of materials picked up at curbside by your City and State crews.

**Reminder: Curbside pickup is limited to storm damage materials only. Please do not items such as tires, siding, tarps, fence posts, etc. as those items will not be picked up.

Brush Facility: The brush facility will offer one more weekend of no fees for storm damage drop-offs this weekend. The Facility will operate during its normal hours this week on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

Curbside pick-up: Crews are now working in Zone 6 as of 11am Tuesday morning. Zone 5 is being finished up by a State DOT crew and is expected to be done today. As crews continue to work their way through the City, please do not put brush next to fire hydrants, mailboxes, poles or utility boxes. Please do not park motor vehicles in front of storm debris.

TRAFFIC ALERT - 7.10.18

State DOT crews will be working on picking up storm damage debris from Highway 65/69 south of Hwy 92 starting at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday 7/10/18.

Curbside pickup: City and State clean-up crews are deep into Zone 4 and also working on Zone 5 as of this afternoon. Both zones will most likely be done late today or early tomorrow according to the Street Department. Crews will continue on with the remaining zones after that. As crews continue to work their way through the City, please do not put brush next to fire hydrants, mailboxes, poles or utility boxes. Please do not park motor vehicles in front of storm debris.

Curbside pick-up is expected to be completed in Zone 3 on Monday 7/9. Clean up efforts will then move into Zone 4.

**From 9am to 12pm on Monday 7/9, State DOT crews will be picking up storm debris on E/W. 2nd Ave (Hwy 92) and N/S. Jefferson Way (Hwy 65/69). Please slow down and use extra caution on the highways during this time.

Brush facility: Normal hours have resumed and facility will be open Saturday and Sunday. FEES WILL BE WAIVED THROUGH THE WEEKEND.

Zone 2 clean-up of storm debris has been completed and both State DOT and City crews have begun Zone 3. Clean up of the debris in Zone 3 is expected to last into next week.

Brush facility: Normal hours have resumed today, Saturday and Sunday. FEES WILL BE WAIVED THROUGH THE WEEKEND.

IMPORTANT: Please do not put brush next to fire hydrants, mailboxes, poles, or utility boxes. Please do not park vehicles in front of debris.

 

Where: City, County & State crews continue to remove debris from curbside in Area 1 of the provided map.

Timeframe: It is estimated that crews will complete removal efforts in Area 1 by Thursday (7.5.18)

What’s Next: Crews will progress to next areas starting with Area 2. Regular status updates to be provided.
