In September 2018 the City, along with the Indianola Chamber of Commerce and Warren County Economic Development Corporation partnered with the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) to conduct an assessment of our community’s downtown square. This process was a wonderful success due to the engagement and input from the community. As a result of this assessment a key recommendation was for the community to engage in a streetscape design process. Information regarding the assessment can be found at the following link: Streetscape Final Assessment

In the Spring of 2019, the City embarked on a process to develop a streetscape master plan. A draft concept plan was developed by a steering committee working in conjunction with design consultants. The steering committee is comprised of business owners, chamber members, community volunteers, and members of the community. Together, the committee developed a draft concept which may be found at the following link: Draft Concept

An open house was held on May 15, 2019 to solicit additional input from the community.
