A Plumbing Permit is required to install, alter, repair, replace or remodel any plumbing system as established by the City Code.

Special Notes:

  Persons must file an application, along with plans that adequately detail the work to be covered by the permit. The plans are reviewed by the Building Official before approval. All work must be done by a master/journeyman plumber, licensed by the State of Iowa. Plumbing Contractors must submit proof of insurance with a copy of their state license prior to the start of work. 

Inspections:

  All work for which a permit is required is subject to inspection by the Building Official. The applicant is responsible for contacting the Community Development Department at appropriate intervals during construction.

Timing:

  Permit is usually granted the same day.
