White bracts which are about 3” wide (the true flowers are ornamentally insignificant) in June and early July give this tree nice early summer interest. Fruits are a dull red in September resembling large upright raspberries on a 2” peduncle. In the fall, purple and scarlet leaves add intense color. Tree has beautiful form with horizontal branching.
