Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP)
SHIIP is a service offered by the Iowa Insurance Division which educates people on Medicare and related topics so they can make knowledgeable health insurance decisions.Trained volunteer counselors meet one on one with individuals and families to answer questions related to Medicare, supplemental insurance, long term care insurance, Medicaid and insurance claims.
SHIIP has assisted thousands of people with insurance claims and shopping for insurance.
SHIIP does not sell, promote or endorse particular companies, products or agents. It provides free, confidential and objective up-to-date information. This service is for the people on Medicare because of age or disability, caregivers, those getting ready to retire and those helping parents, relatives or friends.
The Indianola Area Senior Center is proud to offer this service for the first time in Warren County! SHIIP volunteer counselors will be available for appointments on the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of each month, from 1:00—4:00 p.m. at the Indianola Activity Center.
