    Walk with Ease is an exciting program partnership between Wellmark Healthy Hometown, Community Health Partners and the City of Indianola Parks and Recreation Department. This program is designed to encourage people to start walking to better manage their pain, chronic conditions, weight, and to stay active. The benefits of the program include: decrease pain, stiffness and fatigue, decrease disability, increase strength, balance, and walking pace, and increase confidence in ability to manage chronic condition. This nine-week small-group walking program is instructed by a certified WWE instructor. Participants will receive health education, stretching, and strengthening exercises, and walk with a group for the support and enjoyment of company.

    Do YOU have what it takes to be a first-class babysitter? In this class presented by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach you will learn your responsibilities as a babysitter, what parents expect, how to care for infants and young children, age appropriate activities, safety, and how to handle emergencies. Open to boys and girls in 5th grade and above. The registration fee includes a workbook, childcare resources, and snack. Participants who attend all three sessions will receive a certificate of participation. Each participant needs to bring a baby doll and a children’s toy for use in class. On Wednesday, October 23, students have the option of arriving at 2:30 pm following early dismissal; formal instruction will not begin until 3:30 pm. Non-4-H members must complete a 4-H medical form and bring it to the first day of the babysitting clinic. The form can be downloaded from the link below.
