The last main pour of phase one, which is south of Hillcrest on Hwy. 65/69, is scheduled to be completed tomorrow.
Phase two of the construction will begin tomorrow. The primary objective of phase two will be the replacement of the intersection at Hillcrest and the highway crossovers, including the Theisen's/Noble Ford/Southtown dealerships. The reconstruction of the crossovers will only affect southbound traffic leaving these businesses. Meaning, only right turns in and right out turns will be available. Traffic needing to head south from this entrance will be directed north to the first available crossover.
Traffic at the Indianola Veterinary Clinic will be right turn/southbound only. Northbound traffic exiting the Veterinary Clinic will be directed south to the first available turn around area.
Traffic exiting onto Hillcrest from Unity Point Clinic and the Summercrest Hills subdivision, wishing to go south on the highway will be detoured to North 14th Street and then west onto East Iowa Avenue. Northbound traffic off of East Hillcrest will remain available.
Traffic in the residential area of West Hillcrest will be detoured south along the frontage road of Pizza Ranch and on to the highway or Apple Drive.
There will be one lane of continuous traffic both north and south bound on the highway.
We anticipate construction of phase two to be completed in six weeks, weather permitting.
Please call Chuck Burgin at 961-9430 should you have any questions. We appreciate your patience during this phase of construction.
