Chapter 15 of the City Code of Ordinances
Chapter 15 of the City Code provides the legal authority for the position of Mayor. This Chapter is based upon Iowa Code Chapter 372.

Strategic Plan
On Tuesday, January 16, 2024, the Indianola City Council approved the City's strategic plan for 2024-27 with emphasis on four priorities: Our Welcoming Hometown, Thriving Hub of Economic Development & Innovation, Resource Optimization, and Protect & Promote Public Health and Safety. To strengthen alignment and ensure clarity in achieving these priorities, the City Council and staff engaged in a comprehensive goal-setting process in December 2025.
Budget
The City of Indianola's budget is the spending plan for the fiscal year, which runs from July 1 to June 30 annually. View More Information
