The City of Indianola realizes the importance and benefits its parks, open space and trail systems have on the City’s character and quality of life and is committed to providing for the recreational needs of current and future residents. This plan intends to guide the continual improvement of the City’s park, recreation and trail systems and maintain its eligibility for state and federal park and recreation grants.
The purpose of the Stormwater Master Plan was to review the drainage infrastructure as a system, to develop a systemic approach to address stormwater issues as well develop a strategy that moves from a reactionary repair to a systematic plan for maintenance.
In line with the City of Indianola's strategic plan goals for infrastructure, the City conducted a multi-year study of the community’s roads as part of a Transportation Master Plan. Data collected from the study helped allow the City to better identify and prioritize road projects.
