Rules
In order to keep The Zone a fun and safe place, students need to follow all rules as posted or as communicated by The Zone staff.
Zone Rules
- All students must sign in (and sign out if leaving before 5 p.m.). Students may sign themselves out. The Zone ends promptly at 5 p.m. Students need to make transportation arrangements prior to coming to The Zone each day. There is no supervision past 5 p.m.
- Once a student signs out of The Zone they must leave the school grounds; no loitering allowed. Students may not return to The Zone once they have checked out.
- Home athletic events at Indianola Middle School begin at 4:30 p.m. and admission is charged. If a student chooses to go to an athletic event, he/she must check out of The Zone.
- Students should bring backpacks, coats, etc. with them to The Zone. Students are not allowed to access their lockers once school is dismissed.
- All students are expected to throw away their snack wrappers and clean up any spills or messes.
- There will be no talking during announcements.
- Students must stay in the area for their selected activity. No roaming in hallways or around school grounds. Under no circumstance can a student leave the school grounds while at The Zone.
- Outdoor Play:
- Students will be confined to the play area as determined by Zone staff.
- The use of athletic fields (soccer, football, etc.) will only be available with Zone staff supervision.
- Weather conditions may prevent outside play or require appropriate coats for students to go outside.
- Cell phones are allowed for calls and texts only. No video or photographs. If problems arise, Zone staff may choose to take away a student’s phone until they leave for the day.
- There will be no roughhousing or horseplay of any kind.
- Inappropriate language will not be used; the school rules apply.
- There will be no hats worn inside the building.
- Bathroom breaks require students to obtain a hall pass from the supervisor.
- Zone students may request a hall pass to go to the concession stand or vending machines; snack wrappers must be disposed of properly.
Refusal of Rules
Students who choose not to follow the rules may be asked to leave The Zone.
