Information Technology

The Information Technology (IT) Department is the technological backbone of the City of Indianola, providing vital services to enhance the city's operations, services, and the lives of our residents.

Our team of dedicated IT professionals work tirelessly to manage the city's technological infrastructure, which ranges from maintaining network connectivity to ensuring the smooth operation of city-wide systems. This includes the efficient running of public services such as utilities, emergency response systems, public works, and municipal services.

A significant part of our role lies in cybersecurity and data privacy. We understand that the security of our citizens' data is paramount. As such, we have robust cybersecurity measures in place, and we continuously work on strengthening these defenses to protect our systems and residents' personal data from potential threats. We also prioritize data privacy, implementing stringent measures to safeguard your personal information from unauthorized access.

The IT Department is also a key player in the city's transition towards becoming a 'Smart City.' This involves deploying cutting-edge technologies like Internet of Things (IoT) devices to improve urban services and quality of life.

In addition to these roles, we are leading the digital transformation of public services. By digitizing and automating processes, we aim to make city services more efficient and accessible. We're developing user-friendly online platforms and mobile applications for the convenience of our residents, ensuring that city services are just a click away.

Moreover, we're exploring the potential of implementing a City Data Platform (CDP) - a centralized hub for city data that would enable data-driven decision making and improve resource allocation.

Our commitment extends to transparent and frequent communication with our residents. We oversee the production of public newsletters, development and maintenance of the City of Indianola's website, and social media channels

The Information Technology Department is committed to using technology as a tool to make our city a better place to live, work, and thrive.
