Senator Julian Garrett of Indianola is proposing legislation right now in 2018 which has the result of placing the "sincerely held religious beliefs" of the KKK and other hate-based ideologies above all Iowa laws that protect Iowans including the Iowa Civil Rights Act and Hate Crimes law. This is damaging to the reputation of Indianola as a progressive place that welcomes people to our great state. For economic development sake and basic decency, please let him know you don't support this effort to diminish the Iowa Civil Rights Act and other laws by elevating hate above justice. Let him know you don't support called bill SF2154 in the Iowa Senate.
