Indianola Municipal Utilities is now accepting proposals for the Fiber Network Extension to the Water Resource Recovery Facility Project, as described in the plans and specifications. Sealed proposals will be received at the IMU Office Building, located at 210 West Second Avenue, Indianola, Iowa, until 1:00 PM local time on February 7, 2022. Proposals will be opened at 3:00 PM local time on February 7, 2022 at the IMU Office Building.
The location of the work to be done and the kinds and sizes of materials proposed to be used are as follows:
FIBER NETWORK EXTENSION TO WATER RESOURCE RECOVERY FACILITY
Construction of an optical fiber network which splices into an existing IMU fiber facility and extends the IMU fiber facility to a point outside of the Indianola Water Resource Recovery Facility. IMU will provide all fiber optic cable, handholes and splice cases/trays to complete this project. The bid includes all other materials; conduit, fittings, locate test stations, marker posts, mule tape and other miscellaneous materials necessary for installation and all labor for installation of the support structure and fiber network including splicing and testing to complete the project. Alternately, IMU may elect to complete the installation of the fiber cable, splice cases and fiber splicing using IMU’s technical staff. The project consists of a total running line footage of approximately 7,860 feet of HDD type construction. The project is to be completed by April 22, 2022.
