Gwen Schroder has been a resident of Indianola since 1991. Gwen and her husband of 42 years, Jeff, relocated to the area when they purchased an area business.
Gwen grew up in Buffalo Center, Iowa and graduated from Wartburg College with a degree in Elementary Education. She owned and managed two retail businesses with Jeff, co-operated their farming business, and taught school for several years before joining Simpson College as an advisor in 1992. Gwen first worked as an Academic Advisor and Assistant Director of the Adult and Continuing Education evening/weekend program and in 2001, she became the Director of Transfer Enrollment in the Office of Admissions before retiring in 2015.
Gwen and Jeff have two daughters, who reside in the area with their families. Gwen is very proud of her four grandchildren, who are her greatest delight. Gwen and Jeff own two businesses, which they manage together.
“Indianola has been a great place to live and raise a family. Its location right next to the metro makes it uniquely appealing to businesses, families and college students. There is much potential here and I’m happy to be a part of the future with so many exciting things ahead.”
