After temporary fixes kept the Indianola Public Library open through the summer, final repairs to the skylight are scheduled for October 13-15.
The damage, originally sustained in June, forced a week-long closure and the cancellation of 18 programs. This upcoming closure will allow crews to complete the restoration and ensure the space is fully safe and functional for the community.
Normal business hours will resume at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 16.
During the closure:
- Librarians will be available by email only during closure. Staff will not be in the building to answer calls.
- Reservations for the meeting room during the closure will be unavailable.
- Outside dropbox will remain open for item returns.
- Free WiFi will still be available outside of the building on the library lot.
- To Be Read bags will be ready for pickup starting Saturday, October 18.
- Interlibrary loan or other items that may be due during the closure can be kept until we reopen.
