[ARCHIVED] Recap: Indianola City Council Meets Monday, January 5

The Indianola City Council met for a regular meeting on Monday, January 5. The meeting can be viewed on the City’s YouTube channel.

Among the items that Council approved during the regular meeting were:

  • A lease agreement between the City of Indianola and Heart of Iowa Regional Transit Agency, Lessee, for the lease of real estate at 310 North Buxton Street.
  • A resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute the Iowa Economic Development Authority Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant contract for electric vehicle charging stations.

January 2026 Proclaimed Slavery & Human Trafficking Month

During the meeting, Indianola Mayor Steve Richardson proclaimed January 2026 as Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month, urging residents to learn about the issue, remain alert, report suspicious activity and help end trafficking in all forms.

Next Council Meeting

The Council will next meet for a study session at 6 p.m. on Monday, January 12. The study session is open to the public and will be held in the Council Chambers at Indianola City Hall, located at 110 N 1st Street, Indianola, IA 50125.

A livestream will be available through the City of Indianola's YouTube channel.

The next regular Council meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Monday, January 19.
